AEB is proud to have contributed to the delivery of the new Volvo V60 for Police Zone Dendermonde. This new vehicle has been fully equipped with signaling solutions to optimize its visibility. The vehicle's setup was carried out in collaboration with experts.
Relying on AEB’s Expertise
AEB was contacted to provide advice on equipping a Volvo V60 for the Dendermonde Police Zone. Our team of technical experts immediately engaged in discussions to determine the best signaling solutions for the vehicle.
It became clear that this was a striped vehicle requiring full 360° visibility. AEB’s product experts evaluated which products were needed to optimize visibility. Since this was a police vehicle, all products also had to comply with Federal Specifications.
Products Used
This Volvo V60 was equipped with LED flashers, a LED lightbar with a spotlight, and an appropriate control system to manage the signaling. Additionally, work lighting was installed in the trunk to ensure officers have sufficient visibility when the trunk is open. This resulted in a vehicle with full 360° visibility.
LED Flashers
For the LED flashers, three different products were used. First, the ED6-BL, a blue flasher that is ideal for installation in narrow spaces and is also R65 Class 2 certified. The ED6-BL flashers were mounted in the vehicle's grille. Additionally, the compact SIXLED-BL-CL2 flashers were installed in the front and rear bumpers. These compact flashers have a very small footprint while also meeting the R65 Class 2 standard. To further enhance safety, two blue TRIPLED-BLs were mounted in the trunk. These are only visible when the trunk is open.

Control System with Controller
To manage all signaling, the vehicle was equipped with the MCS-NX-16 control system. This system offers a wide range of functionalities and features 16 outputs. Fully customizable, it operates on the CANBUS protocol and is an ideal solution for priority vehicles.

LED Lightbar with search light
An essential component of vehicle signaling is the LED Lightbar mounted on the roof. For this Volvo V60, AEB configured a SILVERBLADE lightbar. This lightbar features blue and white LEDs providing 360° illumination around the bar. At the rear of the lightbar, an orange directional arrow is integrated to guide traffic when necessary. Additionally, alley lights are installed on the sides, and takedown lights are positioned at the front. The SILVERBLADE is R65 Class 2 certified and equipped with a day/night sensor. In short, this lightbar is fitted with all the options necessary for the safe operation of the Police Zone. .
Additionally, a search light was mounted on the lightbar. This spotlight offers various features to optimize usability. Officers can choose between the spot and flood functions, ensuring the vehicles always have access to a wide illuminated area. When needed, the police can also activate the focus mode, allowing detailed light to be directed at a specific area. This ensures perfect signaling for other road users.
